An indispensable force in a primarily male dominated construction industry, Jyoti Sherchan is the mastermind behind the Sungava Apartments project. With a career spanning almost 50 years, Jyoti is renowned for her organizational prowess and financial acumen and was the third pillar of Nepal’s premier design and construction firm, Creative Builders Collaborative (CBC), alongside her husband, Deepak Man Sherchan and brother in law, Manohar Prasad Sherchan. With a background rooted in a lineage of academic excellence—her mother, Angur Baba Joshi, known for social service and her father, Dr. Balram Joshi, a prominent nuclear physicist—Jyoti's own achievements include being one of Nepal's first female architects. She is the former president of SONA (Society of Nepalese architects) and is in the forefront of women empowerment in Nepal, winning several awards and recognition for her contribution to the field of architecture. An avid gardener and a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Sungava apartments is the capstone to her prolific career and her final project before she retires. She is determined that her commitment to quality and trustworthiness ensures that her final project will shine brightly, leaving an indelible mark on Nepal's architectural landscape.
