To apply for a Nepal visa, you can either get a visa on arrival or apply before travel through a Nepal embassy. All foreign nationals need a visa to enter Nepal, except Indian citizens.

1. Visa on Arrival

This is the most common option for tourists. You can get it at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at major land borders.

  1. Online Form:
Fill the online tourist visa form up to 15 days before arrival. Print the receipt with barcode.
  2. Payment:
Pay the visa fee at the airport bank counter. It is best to carry cash in US Dollars or other major currencies. Some places may accept cards.
  3. Immigration:
Submit your passport, payment receipt, and printed form to the immigration officer.

2. Pre-Arrival Visa (Embassy)

You can also apply before travel at a Nepal embassy or consulate in your country.

  • Online Application:
Fill the form online before visiting the embassy.
  • Submission:
Submit your passport, photo, and printed form. This can be in person or by post, based on the embassy.
  • Processing Time:
Usually takes 2 to 5 working days.
